From the South Pole to the human body: chemicals like PFAS and BPA are everywhere. Just this year, a study by the RIVM found that in one out of every five cases, breast milk from Dutch women contained excessive levels of PFAS. How do these so-called “forever chemicals” affect our health? Toxicologist Juliette Legler (Utrecht University) explains how deeply these substances have penetrated our environment and just how great the risk really is.
