What happens when we select and store sperm cells, embryos and uterine tissue for future use? In the interactive installation Frozen in Time and Space, designer Bertrand Burgers and the team led by medical ethicist Marieke Hollestelle (UMC Utrecht) explore the uncomfortable questions surrounding cryopreservation. Which lives do we consider worth preserving? Who decides that? And what happens when life is reduced to codes, data and selection?
