De tastzin is een van onze belangrijkste zintuigen. Maar terwijl we als baby nog alles aanraken en in onze mond steken, leren we dat snel af. Kijken en luisteren zijn dominant, al helemaal in de kunst. Met haar aanraakbare werken probeert kunstenaar/onderzoeker Marloeke van der Vlugt onze tastzin de aandacht te geven die het verdient. Hoe zou je de textuur, temperatuur en zacht- of hardheid van het object omschrijven? Wat wil het object je vertellen? En hoe reageert jouw lichaam op dit directe fysieke contact?

Touch is one of our most important senses. But while we still touch and put everything in our mouths as babies, we quickly unlearn this. Looking and listening are dominant, especially in art. With her touchable works, artist/researcher Marloeke van der Vlugt seeks to give our sense of touch the attention it deserves. How would you describe the texture, temperature and soft- or hardness of the object? What does the object want to tell you? And how does your body respond to this direct physical contact?
