HKU-alumna en kunstenaar Melissa Cijntje onderzoekt de complexiteit rondom identiteit in met elkaar verweven gemeenschappen. Melissa is zelf opgegroeid in Curaçao. Toen ze naar Nederland kwam, ervaarde ze dat ze niet hetzelfde werd behandeld als andere Nederlanders, ondanks dat ze de nationaliteit deelde. Met haar werk ‘Blue Skies’ nodigt ze je uit om in gesprek te gaan over wat identiteit voor jou betekent. Ze raakt daarmee aan het menselijk verlangen naar ergens ‘thuishoren’.

Alumnus of the Utrecht School of the Arts Melissa Cijntje investigates the complexity around identity within intertwined communities. Melissa grew up in Curaçao.
